How Was Your Week?
I’ve been getting used to life being different. This week someone in my family finally came home from the hospital. We’re all thankful, but it just takes some getting used to. I’m not sure I’m comfortable traveling again just yet, but like I mentioned last week, life has been about taking things day by day.
In the meantime, I’ve been writing quite a bit on my newsletter, Dear Darling. It’s free to subscribe, and I’d love to have you. I think next week I may do a bit of tinkering with this site. Style-wise, at least. I feel like it needs a bit more color and maybe a sprinkle of just something extra? We’ll see. Have a cozy weekend, and here are few fun things to pique your interest...

On the Dear Darling Newsletter I shared a letter on the lessons I’ve learned from my mother (including the time she told my word was trash 😂). At 31, I can say mom was right about a lot. God, what a woman.
Table of One is a new travel column I started where I share narrative experiences dining alone. My first piece was on Kassi Beach Club in Las Vegas, and I’m quite excited to do more!
I started re-watching The Girl Before on HBO Max. While I wasn’t overly fond of it on the first watch, this is my 3rd time watching it, and I find it’s a show that increasingly gets better with each re-watch, and the longer you let it sit. It’s actually quite a fascinating well-written, story.
I watched this Frontline documentary where they followed two families over decades (from the 1990s to 2024) to observe the average American family. It’s quite insightful.
I’m more of a slow shopper. I like to research and invest in pieces that will last a long time. I’ve been looking at this Mark & Graham tote in the color fog for a while. I want to go ahead and order, but now I can’t stop gazing at the yellow version.
A little life ‘catch up’ over on Instagram. I share a few thoughts on how things have been going lately (as well as something random that deeply freaks me out!).
I don’t think I’ve written this much in years. I love writing with a warm cup of coffee, so I’ve been using my Ember mug nonstop lately.
If you’re in Atlanta, one of the organizations I love to support Girls, Inc. is hosting their Strong, Smart, and Bold Awards on August 23rd. If you’re interested in volunteering sometime, it’s a great way to learn more about their programs and see the work they accomplish.
Old Fendi bags have been catching my attention. I think it’s something about the structure. I like this suede one I found on re-sale.
Finally, today’s scripture on faith in action, complementary of Bible Gateway: Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1.
xo, Zauni.
