A Mid-Summer Lingerie List
Where do you shop for lingerie?
I’m in my thirties now, but I spent a large chunk of my twenties working for luxury boutiques on the Las Vegas Strip. One of my most intriguing gigs? Working as an associate at La Perla inside the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. I also worked at Soma Intimates, too. When it comes to the world of lingerie, I’ve been both a long-time consumer and employee. I love it quite a bit.
In working with so many women, I found the #1 problem was that most women didn’t know how to shop for lingerie. They would buy bras and panties out of necessity, and lingerie for special occasions, but they struggled with upgrading to that coveted ‘grown woman’ wardrobe that was functional, beautiful, and sensuous. My goal was always to help them make lingerie less intimidating (and to teach about proper fit, because the amount of women wearing the wrong bra size is insane).
I don’t work in luxury retail anymore, but I still have a deep love for lingerie, and an excitement to share that love with those who love it too. I’m including these lingerie articles, shopping tips, and recommendations in Dear Darling as a place to swap words of advice and favorites between us ladies. So, please don’t hesitate to share what you love in the comments, or any helpful tips for others.

Honestly, if you wear a bra and panties everyday, you’re already in the lingerie game, darling. The real hard thing about lingerie shopping is that it amplifies your relationship with your body. While that can be scary, it can also be a therapeutic journey toward self-confidence.
Like anything in a woman’s life, shopping for lingerie is about figuring out what you want. Then, it’s about trial and error to find the brands and boutiques that can deliver the products and experience you desire. Here are a few things to keep in mind…
